Turkey Advances in AI with New National Strategy Meeting

Turkey’s Vice President, Cevdet Yılmaz, announced the completion of the fourth “National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Steering Committee” meeting, held at the Presidential Complex.

During the meeting, the committee discussed over 70 actions in line with previous decisions, forming the core framework of the “National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (NAIS) 2024-2025 Action Plan,” Yılmaz stated. In the coming days, input from civil society organizations and private sector representatives will be incorporated to finalize the action plan.

Yılmaz highlighted that under the goals of the National Technology Initiative and Digital Turkey, the national AI strategy and local solutions aim to enhance the country’s competitive edge both locally and globally. He expressed confidence in Turkey becoming a leader in AI, similar to its pioneering roles in defense and cybersecurity.

Under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Yılmaz affirmed that Turkey will continue to take decisive steps to elevate the country with groundbreaking technologies throughout the “Century of Turkey.” He expressed gratitude towards all institutions and organizations, especially the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Presidential Digital Transformation Office, for their contributions to the new action plan and Turkey’s AI techno-economic advancement. Yılmaz concluded by wishing the meeting’s outcomes to be beneficial.
