Opposition Party Criticizes $8 Billion Spending on City Hospitals Amid Escalating Costs
The Deputy Chairman in charge of Public Relations and Media Relations of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Burhanettin Bulut, has announced that the total guarantee payments made to city hospitals have reached a staggering 148.5 billion TL ($8 billion).
Bulut highlighted that city hospitals, contrary to initial promises, have resulted in enormous costs. “City hospitals, claimed to cost the public nothing, have ended up imposing huge financial burdens on the populace,” Bulut stated, emphasizing that these projects have rapidly exhausted public resources.
Adana Member of Parliament Burhanettin Bulut emphasized the need for more efficient use of public funds, asserting, “City hospitals are like a bottomless pit; whatever you give, they consume it. Imposing this immense financial burden on our citizens is unacceptable.”
