AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik Criticizes UN, US, and European Nations over Gaza Crisis

AK Party Deputy Chairman and Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made a scathing statement, targeting the United Nations, the United States, and European countries for their lack of response to the events in Gaza.

Çelik accused the United Nations of failing an important test on behalf of humanity, stating, “In the 21st century, if you can’t stop a genocide being watched by all of humanity live, what good are you?” He also pointed out that the UN could not even protect its own personnel and aid workers.

Criticizing the US and European nations harshly, Çelik condemned them for not taking any steps to halt Israel’s operations in Gaza, saying, “This blood is on your hands too. You became accomplices to Israel’s genocide because you remained silent.”

Highlighting that it’s not just innocent children but humanity and universal values dying in Gaza, Çelik argued that Europe is undermining its own values by violating democracy, human rights, freedom of expression, and press freedom.

Addressing the Islamic world, Çelik said, “What are you waiting for to make a united decision? What more needs to happen for you to react? Babies are being decapitated, people are being burned in tents. When will you react?”

Moreover, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he stated, “The world is watching the barbarism of a patient, a madman, a psychopath, a blood-thirsty vampire named Netanyahu live on air.”

Lastly, Çelik criticized the structure of the United Nations Security Council, saying, “More than three-quarters of the 193 member countries of the United Nations recognize Palestine as a sovereign state. The joint decision of 147 countries cannot be left to the whims of a Security Council composed of five members. The world is bigger than five, 147 is bigger than five, the common conscience of humanity is bigger than five.”
