He noted that since its launch, YİMER 157 has rescued 15,619 individuals.

In an interview with Anadolu Agency (AA), President Toros shared that YİMER 157 has been operational since August 20, 2015, and has carried out significant work over the past nine years.

He explained that in emergencies, individuals can press “1” to directly connect to the help line. Additionally, the Migration Authority collaborates with the Police, Gendarmerie, and Coast Guard to combat irregular migration and migrant smuggling effectively.

President Toros highlighted that the fight against irregular migration and migrant smuggling is conducted with a focus on civilization values, human rights, and the rule of law.

President Toros stated, “YİMER 157 plays an active role in rescuing victims of various crimes, including human trafficking, domestic violence, and migrant smuggling. Calls are responded to quickly, and location information is immediately shared with law enforcement agencies.”

He reported that 909 emergency calls were received through the coordination of YİMER 157 and law enforcement units.

“To date, 15,619 individuals have been rescued through this center,” Toros shared. He also mentioned that this year alone, 231 individuals have been rescued via the emergency aid line.
