Turkish Vice President Announces Strategic Meeting on Agriculture as Part of Medium-Term Program
The Turkish Vice President, Cevdet Yılmaz, has announced the completion of a significant meeting focusing on the agricultural sector, in preparation for the 2025-2027 Medium-Term Program (OVP). The meeting was held at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, with the leadership of the Turkish Union of Chambers of Agriculture also in attendance.
During the meeting, attendees discussed the impacts of climate change and geopolitical developments on the agricultural sector, emphasizing the growing strategic importance of the industry. Yılmaz highlighted that policy documents are being crafted with this awareness, and efforts are being made in close dialogue with sector representatives to shape policies that meet the nation’s needs.
The OVP process aims to enhance both production and efficiency in the agriculture and food sectors while making agriculture more appealing to the younger population. It was stated that the views and suggestions of sector representatives were sought to achieve these goals.
