Turkish Navy Conducts Critical Military Exercises in Somalia
The Turkish Republic Navy has conducted important military exercises as part of the Somalia Maritime Task Force.
About the Exercises
The task force, consisting of TCG Gökova, TCG Gediz, and TCG Lt. Arif Ekmekçi, carried out practical training in “Emergency Medical Evacuation and Firing Exercises” and “Helicopter Machine Gun/Light Weapon Firing Drills.” These exercises aim to enhance the naval units’ abilities to provide rapid evacuation and fire support during emergencies.
Coordinated Operations
Simultaneously, TCG Lt. Arif Ekmekçi’s ATAK boat and helicopter successfully completed the “Coordinated Surface Operations Training.” Such exercises are crucial to increasing the multi-dimensional operational capacity of the navy forces.
These exercises of the Somalia Maritime Task Force will continue in line with the goals of ensuring regional security and enhancing operational capabilities.
