Turkish Naval Ship TCG KINALIADA Visits Manila to Mark 100 Years of Diplomatic Ties Between Turkey and Japan

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Japan, the Turkish naval ship TCG KINALIADA made a significant visit to Manila, the capital of the Philippines, from June 26 to June 28, 2024.

Upon its arrival at the Manila port, TCG KINALIADA was greeted with a ceremony led by Turkish Ambassador to the Philippines Niyazi Evren Akyol, Rear Admiral Mehmet Baybars Küçükatay, Philippine Navy Air Command Chief Rear Admiral Juario C. Marayag, and Naval Attaché Colonel Yavuz Mercan. The Philippine Navy also took part in the welcome event.

During the visit, Turkey’s Ambassador and the ship’s crew paid a courtesy visit to Vice Admiral Renato David, the Philippine Navy Commander, at his office. The Turkish delegation also attended a reception hosted by the Philippine Navy.

This visit aimed to strengthen diplomatic ties and foster friendship between Turkey and Japan.
