In a recent development, the Turkish Naval Forces, along with students from the Naval Academy, participated in an “Open Sea Training” exercise aboard the landing ship TCG BAYRAKTAR. The training focused on various critical topics including seamanship, firefighting, damage control, and first aid. Additionally, the frigate TCG SALİHREİS facilitated maneuvers, passage exercises, and helicopter landing/takeoff drills.
From July 28 to July 30, 2024, the students made a port visit to Algeria. On July 28, they visited Major General Aldülhakim Ouchish, the Algerian Naval Central Region Commander, at his office. Following this, the Algerian Naval Central Region Commander and his entourage paid a reciprocal visit to the TCG BAYRAKTAR.
