In a significant boost to border security measures, the Turkish Armed Forces successfully apprehended five individuals attempting to cross borders illegally. The operations took place at the Turkey-Greece and Syria-Turkey borders, where border units intercepted the suspects.
Subsequent investigations revealed the identities of the captured individuals. Reports confirm that two of the detained persons are affiliated with FETÖ (Fetullah Terrorist Organization), and one is a member of the terrorist group ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria). The remaining two individuals were identified as civilians attempting to make an unlawful crossing.
Judicial proceedings have been initiated against the detained suspects. Officials from the Ministry of National Defense have stated that operations to ensure border security will continue with increased intensity.
