TCG KARABİGA patrol ship conducted joint exercises with the German Navy’s FGS PEGNITZ minehunter as part of the NATO Standing Maritime Group-2 (SNMG2) mission.
According to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, the training aimed to strengthen international maritime cooperation and enhance the operational capabilities of the crew from both navies.
These exercises were designed to improve the collaborative working habits and coordination skills of TCG KARABİGA and FGS PEGNITZ under the NATO framework. Various scenarios, including mine hunting and other naval operations, were practiced during the drills.
Turkey and Germany’s participation in these exercises as part of the NATO Standing Maritime Group-2 supports both countries’ defense cooperation and NATO’s collective security efforts.
