Turkey’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz extended his congratulations to the awarded export companies during his speech at the 31st Annual General Assembly of the Turkish Exporters Assembly and the Export Champions Award Ceremony.

Yılmaz noted that despite a period of weak foreign demand, the exceptional performance of goods and services exporters is expected to bring the current account deficit below 2.5% in 2024. He also highlighted that high-value-added production and export-oriented policies will continue to be implemented within the framework of the Medium-Term Program and the 12th Development Plan.

Emphasizing the successful completion of the program’s first year in terms of budget and external balance, Yılmaz stated that a solid foundation has been established during the “transition period” leading towards a disinflation period. He mentioned that monetary and fiscal policies, together with structural reform agendas, have been planned in an integrated framework and are being implemented with determined coordination.

In conclusion, Yılmaz affirmed that they will continue to support the disinflation process with balanced growth focused on production and export.
