Turkey Hosts UK Delegation to Discuss Bilateral Relations and Global Issues

ANKARA – The Grand National Assembly of Turkey’s (TBMM) Foreign Affairs Committee hosted a delegation comprising members of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords and House of Commons, municipal council members, and business people as part of a program organized by Yunus Emre Institute. During this meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and the United Kingdom, especially in the areas of economy, trade, and investment, were discussed. Additionally, potential collaborations to advance these relations to a higher level were evaluated.

The sensitivities regarding Gaza were also addressed at the meeting. Turkey emphasized the need for increased international pressure to halt the atrocities and massacres carried out by Israel. In this context, Turkey’s steps taken so far and possible additional measures were shared with the delegation.

Moreover, developments in the Asia-Pacific region, issues concerning Ukraine, cooperation in combating terrorism, and discussions on regional and global security were also evaluated.
