Turkey and UAE Sign MoU on Social Services and Child Welfare

In a ceremony at the Presidential Complex, Turkey’s Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş and UAE’s Minister of Community Development Shamma bint Sohail Faris Al Mazrouei signed a memorandum of understanding. The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in social services between the two nations.

Additionally, an agreement was signed between Turkey’s Ministry of Family and Social Services and the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation to rebuild, maintain, and develop the Sheikh Zayed Children’s Home Complex in Istanbul. This agreement was signed by Ayşegül Yıldırım Kara, the General Director of Child Services, and Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, the Foundation’s General Director.

Minister Göktaş stressed the importance of cooperation between Turkey and the UAE, noting the historical ties between the two countries. She emphasized, “We are honored and proud to sign these agreements under the esteemed leadership of Madam Minister. I hope this cooperation will continue to grow.”

BAE’s Minister Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrouei highlighted that significant progress has been made through this partnership and hoped the agreements would benefit both countries.

The agreements include sharing knowledge, experience, and best practices to strengthen family and women’s empowerment, promote policies for women’s employment, ensure the full and effective participation of disabled individuals in society, encourage active aging, and enhance the social services provided to families, women, children, the disabled, and the elderly.

The MoU for the Sheikh Zayed Children’s Home Complex includes plans to rebuild the rehabilitation center, children’s homes, sports center, landscape, infrastructure, and refurbish the mosque within the campus. A new science and technology campus is also planned.
