Turkey and TRNC Sign Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement for 2024

ANKARA –

Vice President of the Republic of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz, and the Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ünal Üstel, signed the Turkey-TRNC Economic and Financial Cooperation Agreement for 2024 at the Presidential Complex.

The agreement includes the allocation of approximately 14 billion Turkish liras for ongoing projects in various fields like transportation, infrastructure, tourism, industry, education, health, energy, agriculture, modern irrigation, and entrepreneurship. With ongoing projects, this figure is expected to reach around 16 billion liras.

Turkey has always cooperated with the TRNC to support the economic and social development of the Turkish Cypriot people and will continue to do so. Vice President Yılmaz stated, “Just as the freedom and security of the Turkish Cypriots is our national cause, a productive, growing, prosperous, and financially strong TRNC is also our cause.”

Yılmaz wished for the agreement to be beneficial for both countries and the region and thanked all stakeholders involved.
