Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya: The Noose Tightens for Fugitive Criminals!
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has announced that 4,491 fugitives with outstanding warrants were apprehended in the “ÇEMBER-21” operations conducted in all 81 provinces over the past five days. In his social media post, Yerlikaya emphasized their commitment to public safety: “We will never allow fugitive criminals to roam our streets. We won’t let them disrupt the peace of our families!”
The details of the caught fugitives are as follows:
Number of Years Wanted:
– 0-5 years: 4,455 persons
– 5-10 years: 19 persons
– Over 10 years: 17 persons
Types of Crimes:
– Theft: 690 persons
– Fraud: 291 persons
– Extortion: 130 persons
– Murder: 118 persons
– Sexual Offenses: 128 persons
– Narcotics: 860 persons
– Terrorism: 26 persons
– Smuggling and Organized Crimes (KOM): 400 persons
In total, 4,491 fugitives were handed over to justice. These individuals were captured through road checks, raids on homes and workplaces, and identity verifications during operations carried out in all 81 provinces by the Provincial Gendarmerie Commands, Provincial Police Departments, and the Coast Guard Command.
Minister Yerlikaya also praised the efforts of provincial governors, district governors, gendarmerie commanders, police chiefs, coast guards, and all participating police officers and gendarmerie personnel, stating, “Our nation’s prayers are with you.”
