TBMM Foreign Relations Committee Meets with Norwegian Counterparts in Oslo

The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Foreign Relations Committee recently convened in Oslo with the Norwegian Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, led by Chairperson Ine Eriksen Soreide.

The discussions centered around steps to end the massacre in Gaza, with a consensus reached that the crisis could only be resolved through a two-state solution model. It was also noted that Norway’s decision to recognize the State of Palestine sends a significant message to Israel, a move that Turkey appreciates.

Both sides agreed to maintain regular parliamentary dialogue, during which they delved into various regional and global issues such as the Israel-Palestine conflict, developments in Ukraine, regional crises, normalization steps, migration, and counterterrorism. Turkey’s stance on these matters was articulated, and Norway’s position was heard.

In the talks, Turkey’s policies on migration were discussed, and dissatisfaction was expressed regarding how European countries approach this issue.

Despite differences in opinions, both parties agreed to continue mutual dialogue and work constructively on bilateral, regional, and global matters.
