Students of Plevne Elementary School Visit Edirne Provincial Gendarmerie Command
In Edirne, students and teachers from Plevne Elementary School recently visited the Edirne Provincial Gendarmerie Command and admired the gendarmerie’s operations.
During the visit, the students were introduced to the operations of the Provincial Gendarmerie Command, and the importance of the 112 emergency call number was explained. The students used radios to congratulate on-duty personnel on the 185th anniversary of the Gendarmerie Organization and wished them success in their duties.
At the Traffic Gendarmerie stand, prepared within the garrison, the students were introduced to traffic equipment and vehicles in the gendarmerie’s inventory. The Crime Branch Directorate also showcased crime scene investigation equipment and conducted a sample crime scene reenactment.
Additionally, at the Commando stand, local and national weapons in the Commando Unit’s inventory were displayed. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team’s gear, including bomb disposal suits, ballistic protective helmets, and reconnaissance intervention tools, were also introduced.
The introduction also featured a demonstration by gendarmerie detector dogs, prepared for children in the canine training area.
It was noted that promotional activities targeting students in primary and secondary schools about the Gendarmerie Organization’s 185th anniversary will continue in coordination with the Provincial Directorate of National Education.
