Somali Welcomes Turkish Research Vessel R/V Oruç Reis in Mogadishu
Turkish research vessel R/V Oruç Reis was welcomed with a ceremony at the Mogadishu port in Somalia. The event was graced by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Representing Turkey at the ceremony were Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, and Deputy Minister of National Defense Musa Heybet. Deputy Minister Heybet conveyed the greetings of Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler to Somali Defense Minister Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur and presented a plaque as part of the ceremony.
The ceremony was seen as a significant step in strengthening Turkey’s relations with Somalia and enhancing maritime security efforts.
