Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Endorses “African Solutions to African Problems”
In a recent statement by the Russian Embassy in Ankara, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed his views on addressing African issues. Lavrov emphasized that Africans are steadfastly committed to the principle of “African solutions to African problems,” which they have defined themselves. He noted that this principle is actively defended not only in the United Nations Security Council, where Russia is a permanent member, but also in engagements with the African Union, sub-regional organizations, and countries across the continent. Lavrov highlighted that Russia’s approach aims to support finding solutions to Africa’s internal issues with respect for their autonomy.
