Relations Between Turkmenistan and Turkey on the Rise

**Meeting Details**

The Turkish Grand National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee held a meeting with the Chairman of the Turkmenistan-Turkey Friendship Group of the Turkmenistan Parliament, Yusupgulu Eshshayev, and his accompanying delegation. The aim of this meeting was to further develop the existing relations between the two friendly and fraternal nations.

**Discussions on Economy and Trade**

During the meeting, steps to enhance relations in the areas of economy, trade, mutual investments, defense industry, culture, education, science, and healthcare were considered. A broad exchange of views took place concerning existing cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

**Emphasis on International Cooperation**

It was highlighted that deepening cooperation in the face of global and regional challenges is necessary. It was noted that Turkmenistan’s full membership in the Organization of Turkic States and TURKPA could significantly contribute in this context.

**Conflicts in the Middle East**

Serious concerns regarding Israel’s actions in Gaza were also discussed during the meeting. The importance of achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and ensuring uninterrupted humanitarian aid was emphasized. It was stated that the issue should be addressed based on a two-state solution.

**The Northern Cyprus Issue**

Moreover, the recognition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, an integral part of the Turkic world, and addressing the Cyprus issue fairly through a two-state approach were highlighted.

**Importance of Parliamentary Diplomacy**

In conclusion, it was agreed that parliamentary diplomacy and sustainable dialogue are vital for further deepening bilateral relations.
