Presidential Spending in Turkey Reaches Record High in September
In September, the spending of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey was announced to be 503 million 961 thousand Turkish Liras. This amount exceeds the monthly salaries of 40 thousand 316 retirees and 29 thousand 641 minimum wage earners.
While the annual budget of the Presidency was set at 12 billion 283 million 843 thousand Turkish Liras, a total of 8 billion 873 million 592 thousand Turkish Liras was spent in the first nine months of the year. With three months remaining until the end of the year, the current spending trend suggests that the budget is expected to be insufficient.
