A significant event took place at Aksaz Shipyard Command on October 14, 2023. The inauguration and naval platforms delivery ceremony, graced by the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, marked an important day for Turkey’s maritime defense capabilities.
The event, also attended by National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler and Chief of Naval Forces Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, featured noteworthy speeches.
Following the opening ceremony, the TCG PİRİREİS Submarine was officially commissioned, while the HIZIRREİS Submarine began its flag-raising and navigation tests. Additionally, fuel vessels YAKIT 2, 3, and 4 were put into service. Furthermore, the MURATREİS Submarine began its dock fitting activities, and the world’s largest in its class, a 3000-ton Submarine Dock, was inaugurated.
