President Erdoğan Announces Significant Progress in Combatting Irregular Migration and Human Trafficking Over the Past Year

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan highlighted substantial progress made in addressing irregular migration and human trafficking during a speech at the Police Academy Graduation Ceremony. According to President Erdoğan, “In the past year, 12,500 individuals were detained as a result of operations, with 4,500 of them being sent to prison. The number of deportations has reached 149,000.”

In his address, President Erdoğan pointed out that 93 out of every 100 incidents related to public safety were resolved within the past year. “Regardless of who may refuse to see it, no one gets away with their wrongdoing. Our law enforcement agencies are working with tremendous dedication to ensure safety and security. This is the scorecard of our Interior Ministry in the current cabinet,” he stated.

President Erdoğan also noted the success of the Turkish Armed Forces in combating terrorist organizations and irregular migration. “Our soldiers have prevented approximately 168,000 illegal border crossings and apprehended 13,691 irregular migrants at our borders through their operations,” he added.
