Parliament Member Selma Aliye Kavaf has submitted the details of proposed changes to the Social Security and General Health Insurance Law to the President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). The primary aim of this amendment is not only to erase individual debts but also to enhance the sustainability of the General Health Insurance (GSS) system.
Kavaf highlighted that the regulation includes significant steps to support citizens in need. She emphasized that determining the income criteria would enable more effective support for genuinely needy individuals, ensuring that public resources are used more efficiently and fairly.
These changes aim to increase access to health insurance for certain segments of society and to clear debts, which is viewed as one of the essentials of being a social state.
