New Child Justice Center Opens in Eskişehir

Eskişehir, Turkey – The Minister of Justice, Yılmaz Tunç, inaugurated a new Child Justice Center in Eskişehir to mitigate the negative impacts of judicial processes on children. In his speech at the opening ceremony, Minister Tunç emphasized the innocence of children and explained that these centers were established to ensure judicial processes are conducted with the guidance of experts.

Best Interests of the Child

Minister Tunç highlighted that children are society’s most precious treasure and stated that these centers would prioritize the best interests of the child. “Our children, who symbolize innocence, are our most valuable treasure and the apple of our eye,” said the Minister, expressing their aim to prevent children from being adversely affected by judicial procedures.

Principle of Restorative Justice

Tunç also stressed the importance of the principle of restorative justice and mentioned the ongoing efforts to expand child justice centers across the country. He emphasized that the initiatives aim to protect the safety and rights of children.

The opening of this center in Eskişehir marks a significant contribution to Turkey’s child justice system, with continued efforts to increase the number of similar centers nationwide.
