Minister of the Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, has announced that the images circulating on social media showing a man assaulting another driver during a traffic dispute are under investigation. The Cybercrime Department’s analysis revealed that the incident occurred on July 27, 2024, in Bağcılar. It was determined that the victim is O.K. and the suspect is E.C., who has a history of various crimes.
E.C., who has been detained by the teams from the Public Order Branch Directorate and Bağcılar District Police Department, is currently under investigation. The treatment of the assaulted individual is ongoing. Minister Ali Yerlikaya emphasized that those who disturb public peace with aggressive behavior in traffic, block roads during wedding convoys or military send-offs, or endanger innocent lives will not be pardoned. He assured that such incidents would be firmly addressed, and perpetrators would be brought to justice.
Minister Yerlikaya conveyed this message via his Twitter account, stating that the necessary actions are being taken in coordination with the Cybercrime Department.
