27 June-4 July Traffic Inspections: Over 2.4 Million Vehicles Checked and 441,910 Penalties Issued
During a extensive traffic enforcement campaign between 27 June and 4 July 2024, our Interior Minister, Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, announced on his social media account that a total of 2,408,077 vehicles were inspected by our Police and Gendarmerie Traffic Teams.
In his statement, Minister Yerlikaya highlighted several key areas of violation:
Devices with light or sound warning signals (flashers) unlawfully installed on 215 vehicles resulted in penalties for their drivers.
Additionally, the campaign resulted in penalties for:
– 115,662 for speeding violations,
– 24,738 for missing periodic inspections,
– 23,609 for not using seat belts,
– 14,000 for driving without a license,
– 9,287 for lacking mandatory insurance.
In total, penalties were issued for 441,910 vehicles/drivers.

“Journeys are meant to reunite you with your loved ones, not to separate you,” Minister Yerlikaya emphasized in his concluding remarks.
