Major Container Port Project Approved in Adana: A Boost for Regional Commerce
AK Party Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik has announced the approval of the Main Container Port Project in Adana. This significant development has been described as a monumental achievement for Adana, brought to fruition by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The new port project will enable a direct connection from the Persian Gulf, through Iraq and Turkey, to the Mediterranean. Furthermore, it will facilitate the transit of goods transported via rail and road in the east-west and south-north transportation corridors to the Mediterranean through Turkey. While Turkey’s current port capacity is 12 million TEU, the Adana Main Container Port is planned to accommodate a substantial portion of this capacity. The project is expected to maximize the commercial potential of Adana and the region.
Ömer Çelik expressed his gratitude to President Erdoğan and the relevant ministers for bringing this project to Adana and the region.
