The world turned its attention to the violence and attacks by Israel on October 7, 2023, but the Palestinian people have been subjected to this persecution for decades. Israel’s policies of occupation, destruction, and execution have been ongoing without interruption for 76 years.
**Israel’s Establishment and Its Impact on Palestine**
Israel was established on May 14, 1948. This date symbolizes a significant catastrophe for the Palestinian people. Known as Nakba (Catastrophe), during this period, Israeli forces expelled approximately 1 million Palestinians and destroyed 675 villages and towns. Thousands of Palestinians lost their lives in the process.
**Ongoing Attacks and Occupation**
After Nakba, Israel’s massacres continued unabated. Blood was shed during the Sharon Massacre, the Sabra and Shatila Massacre, and the Jerusalem and Jenin Massacres. Expanding its occupation every day, Israel now controls 85% of the 27,000 square kilometers of Palestinian land. This situation has turned Palestinians into refugees in their own homeland, with millions being forcibly displaced.
**Rising Native Population and Settlement Policy**
The number of illegal settlers driven by religious fanaticism and the Palestinian lands they seize increase each year. Today, Israel, the only United Nations member state without defined borders, exacerbates this issue.
**Unanswered Questions**
At the 74th United Nations General Assembly, the question, “Where are Israel’s borders?” was posed to the world, and no response has been received since then.
**Awareness of the Danger**
If Israel’s increasingly expansionist policies are not stopped, threats are expected to escalate. Although there are some in the country who fail to see this, those aware of the danger are striving to take the necessary precautions.
