“KUYU-15” Operations Dismantle Major Criminal Organizations in Turkey

Turkey’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced the outcomes of the “KUYU-15” operations conducted in Kırklareli, Istanbul, Tekirdağ, and Diyarbakır. The operations led to the capture of 30 suspects, including the leaders of two rival organized crime groups, Nizamettin Gündüz and Ercan Kartay.

Minister Ali Yerlikaya emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to fighting crime and made the following statement:

“I want our noble nation to know that those who boast in crime, disturb our public peace, and engage in organized crime will fall into the pits they dig.”

The operations, coordinated by the General Directorate of Security’s Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department (KOM) and executed by the Kırklareli Provincial Police Department’s KOM Branch, uncovered a range of offenses committed by the suspects, including:

– Forming a criminal organization

– Attempted murder

– Extortion

– Vandalism

– Usury

– Prostitution and human trafficking

– Deliberately endangering public safety

– Violations of Law No. 6136

Preliminary findings from the operations revealed the seizure of 8 unlicensed pistols, 2 unlicensed rifles, and a large quantity of ammunition.

Minister Yerlikaya congratulated the police for their successful efforts, expressing his gratitude: “May God protect you from harm. The prayers of our nation are with you.”
