The Tekirdağ Provincial Gendarmerie Command, in collaboration with the Family and Domestic Violence Prevention and Child Section Directorate, conducted a significant awareness campaign during the “Lavender Festival” in Süleymanpaşa District’s Gendarmerie Command jurisdiction.
During the event, an important talk was held for the female attendees about “Combating Violence Against Women,” highlighting that violence against women is a societal issue. Essential information was shared to help protect women from violence and raise their awareness regarding this pressing issue.
Introduction of the KADES Application
Gendarmerie officials also provided detailed information on the “KADES Application,” developed to prevent violence against women. The women were instructed on how to use this application and the steps to take in case of a violent situation. The officials explained how the application works in emergencies and its benefits.
During the festival, brochures containing information on the types and signs of violence, as well as organizations that can assist victims, were distributed to the women. Gendarmerie officials emphasized the importance of such informational efforts to prevent violence against women and increase awareness.
Officials reiterated that violence against women is a societal problem and that awareness campaigns like this are crucial for enhancing societal consciousness. Thanks to this event, women not only learned about the KADES application but also gained valuable knowledge on the various means of seeking help in violent situations.
