Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu Announces New Support Program for Renewal of Risky Structures
Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has unveiled a new support program aimed at transforming risky buildings. This initiative offers significant benefits to low-income residents and retirees.
In the program targeting those living in risky buildings, İmamoğlu stated that 60-65% of the transformation costs will be covered by the municipality. This project will be carried out in conjunction with the Istanbul Renewal initiative.
The project’s goal is to make unsafe structures in Istanbul more secure, thereby minimizing loss of life and property during potential earthquakes and other disasters. With this support from the municipality, particularly low-income residents will see their living spaces become safer and more modern.
