Israeli Army Conducts Raids in West Bank
The Israeli army has launched multiple raids across various areas in the occupied West Bank, targeting several Palestinian residential zones. These operations, particularly concentrated around the city of Tulkarm and its surrounding towns, have significantly impacted regional security.
Suspension of Education
In some areas of the city of Hebron, educational activities have been suspended due to security concerns. The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education decided to temporarily halt education in certain regions owing to the increased frequency of the raids. School administrations, especially in regions where Israeli settlements are present, announced a halt in classes due to safety concerns.
Raids and Developments
According to social media reports, Israeli military units have been heavily deployed near hospitals in Tulkarm. Additionally, footage has been shared showing military vehicles advancing towards the Nur Shams Refugee Camp. In the city of Nablus, raids were conducted in the towns of Madama and Beit Furik. The towns of Ferata and Imatein, east of Qalqilya, were also targeted, while the al-Jalazone Refugee Camp in al-Bireh city was among the affected areas. Reports indicate that Israeli soldiers used stun grenades and gas in some of the raids.
Injuries in Clashes
During the raids, tensions flared between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers. Although no injuries have been reported, a tense atmosphere prevails in the region. Similar raids were also carried out in the town of al-Khader, west of Bethlehem in southern West Bank.
Post-October 7 Developments
Following the large-scale attacks carried out by Hamas’ armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, on October 7, 2023, Israel has implemented a more extensive security operation in the West Bank. As a result of the clashes in Gaza, 1,200 Israelis have died and more than 5,000 have been injured. Reports indicate that 41,870 Palestinians have lost their lives and the number of wounded has reached 97,166 due to the attacks on the Gaza Strip.
In conclusion, these recent raids in the West Bank have heightened regional tensions, led to suspension of education, and caused damage to civil infrastructure. Both Palestinian and Israeli sides continue to suffer losses, with no end to the tension in sight.
