Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya Reports on the Success of “Kalkan-25” Operations: 149 Organizers Apprehended, 2,563 Irregular Migrants Captured
Turkey’s Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, announced that last week’s “Kalkan-25” operations led to the capture of 149 human traffickers and 2,563 irregular migrants.
Minister Yerlikaya stated on his social media account that the fight against irregular migration and human trafficking organizers is being carried out 24/7 with determination.
**Deportation Procedures Initiated**
During the past week-long “Kalkan-25” operations, 100 operations were carried out targeting human traffickers and irregular migrants. Minister Yerlikaya noted that 149 human trafficking organizers were apprehended during these operations. He mentioned that 42 of the organizers had been arrested, 21 were placed under judicial control, and procedures for the others are ongoing.
Additionally, Minister Yerlikaya reported that 2,563 irregular migrants had been captured. Those migrants have been handed over to the Provincial Immigration Departments, and deportation procedures have been initiated.

“For the peace and security of our country, we are always on the trail of human trafficking organizers,” said Minister Yerlikaya. “We have not allowed, and will not allow, any irregularities. We did not, and will not, permit provocateurs. In accordance with our national interests, without compromising public order and security, and adhering to human rights, law, and civilized values, we are continuously combating irregular migration and will continue to do so.”
