Illegal Dumping Determined in Ankara: Municipalities Fined Heavily
An inspection was initiated following a tip-off received by the Ankara Provincial Directorate.
Upon receiving a notification, an investigation was conducted in Yakacık Mahallesi, Yenimahalle, where it was discovered that waste had been illegally dumped on a plot of land.
The inspection revealed that the land in question was not an authorized excavation dumping site and did not have a regular storage license.
Further investigations determined that the waste had been dumped illegally by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and the Yenimahalle Municipality.
This illegal dumping has led to environmental pollution, which has been highlighted as a significant concern.
Both municipalities were fined separately with an administrative monetary penalty of 1,299,054 TL under the Environment Law.
This incident once again underscores the importance of compliance with environmental protection laws by relevant authorities.
