Particularly, it is said that the mentality behind the events targeting the Turkish Armed Forces, such as Ergenekon, Sledgehammer, and the Military Espionage cases by the FETÖ mindset, is disturbed by these proceedings. Moreover, it is highlighted that those who have made statements like “I wish Greece had won” and expressed negative sentiments towards Atatürk also feel discomfort.
In conclusion, launching an investigation into young lieutenants based on the criticisms from a few social media accounts is considered a stance far removed from patriotism. This is seen as a sign of weakening national consciousness and is described as a form of helplessness.
