German Mine-Hunting Ship Visits Çanakkale Port as Part of NATO Mission
In an official visit from May 30 to June 2, 2024, the German Navy’s mine-hunting vessel FGS GROMITZ docked at Çanakkale Port. This visit was conducted under the NATO Standing Maritime Group 2 (SNMG-2 TU.01) mission.
During the visit, the Commodore of SNMG-2 TU.01 and the commander of the FGS GROMITZ ship paid a courtesy visit to Rear Admiral Mustafa Biçen, the Commander of the Çanakkale Strait. The meeting emphasized cooperation and coordination in maritime security.
