Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek announced a significant improvement in inflation expectations for 12 and 24 months ahead over the past ten months.
Noting that temporary effects in July had led to higher monthly inflation, which slightly impacted year-end expectations, Şimşek highlighted that the 12-month inflation expectation has dropped to 28.7%, and the 24-month expectation has decreased to 19.3%.
“As the Ministry of Finance, we anticipate a significant decline in annual inflation in August and expect a downward trend to continue for the rest of the year,” he stated.
Attributing these optimistic expectations to well-managed economic policies, Şimşek emphasized their determination to combat inflation.
