Ermenek Mining Disaster: 10 Years On, Memory and Justice Sought
Today marks the 10th anniversary of the Ermenek Mining Disaster. In this tragic event that took place in 2014 in the Ermenek district of Karaman, 18 miners lost their lives. On the anniversary of this sorrowful incident, the voice of a mother, Ayşe, who lost her son, echoes in our memories. “My son couldn’t swim, what did he do in the water?” she laments, expressing the pain of losing her child.
