Ekrem İmamoğlu Elected President of Turkish Municipalities Union
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has been elected as the President of the Turkish Municipalities Union. In his acceptance speech, İmamoğlu expressed his gratitude and highlighted his aim to bring a transparent, fair, and participatory approach to local governance within the union.
In his statement, İmamoğlu said, “We are opening a new chapter. I thank all the delegates who deemed me worthy of the presidency of the Turkish Municipalities Union.” İmamoğlu emphasized that he will adopt a management style that is transparent, fair, and inclusive during his tenure.
