Director General of Security Erol Ayyıldız Steps Down Following Presidential Decision
Ankara – Erol Ayyıldız, who has been serving as the Director General of Security since June 26, 2023, announced his resignation effective August 16, 2024, following a decision by the President.
Ayyıldız expressed his gratitude to God for the honor of serving in the police organization, emphasizing his efforts to uphold justice and the rule of law in an institution that considers martyrdom and veteran status as a duty.
He extended his best wishes to his successor, Mahmut Demirtaş, the new Director General of Security, and underlined his commitment to remain a devoted member of the police force.
Ayyıldız also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s peace and security and expressed his gratitude towards veterans. He acknowledged the support of President, state officials, senior colleagues, retirees, and his co-workers during his tenure.
