On May 25th, thirty-three patients receiving dialysis treatment at Burdur State Hospital encountered various health issues post-treatment. Symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, and confusion emerged in some patients after their dialysis sessions, prompting the hospital to place all dialysis patients under observation.
In response to the emergency, a total of fourteen patients, including two in intensive care, were intubated to stabilize their conditions. Following this, three patients were transferred to Isparta, twenty-three to Antalya, six to Afyon, and one to Denizli for dialysis and intensive care needs. The health conditions of these transferred patients are being closely monitored.
Unfortunately, three elderly patients with chronic conditions passed away. As of today, there are no patients remaining intubated. Fourteen patients are still receiving treatment, while sixteen have been discharged. The condition of those still undergoing treatment is reported to be improving.
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca stated that this distressing incident at Burdur State Hospital is being closely monitored from all aspects, and that both judicial and administrative investigations are ongoing. Koca extended his wishes for a speedy recovery to all affected patients.
