DEVA Party Leader Ali Babacan Addresses Economic Challenges and Criticizes High Interest Rates
Ali Babacan, the Chairman of DEVA Party, made significant statements regarding the ongoing economic issues. Babacan emphasized that economic management cannot be conducted without considering the conditions of tradespeople, SMEs, and industrialists. He highlighted that focusing solely on a few macro indicators is insufficient to rectify the economy.
Babacan criticized the high-interest rate policies implemented for foreign investors, stating that they negatively affect local workers. Drawing attention to the situation of minimum wage earners and the poor, Babacan stated that these policies harm the lower strata of society.
In his remarks, Babacan underscored the need for social justice during times of increasing economic inequality. He called for a comprehensive review of economic policies to ensure they cater to all segments of society and urged for greater attention to be given to domestic workers.
