Meanwhile, local governments are being accused of allocating large budgets to only those artists who are favored or supported, using public resources. For example, a specific municipality is reported to have spent a huge budget of 5 million 300 thousand TL for a renowned artist’s two-hour concert.
This situation highlights a significant imbalance between the expenditures on national projects like the defense industry and the payments made to favored artists. Sector representatives advocate for questioning such spending and call for more cautious use of public resources.
