Debates continue over the demand for fees labeled as ‘dues’ or ‘donations’ from parents in public schools. In this context, MP Selma Aliye Kavaf posed a question to the Minister of National Education, Yusuf Tekin.
Kavaf questioned the legality of such fees collected from parents in public schools. She highlighted the importance of the issue with her statement, “Is it not illegal to demand fees under the name of ‘dues’ or ‘donations’ in public schools?”
Advocating for the principle of equality in education, Kavaf also inquired about the steps being taken to prevent such practices. Emphasizing the need to resolve financial issues in education, she aimed to reduce the burden on parents.
The response from Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin on this matter is eagerly awaited.
