CHP’s Özgür Özel Urges Government to Address Economic Hardships
Burhanettin Bulut, Deputy Chairman responsible for Public Relations and Media, as well as Adana Member of Parliament for the Republican People’s Party (CHP), shared statements from their chairman, Özgür Özel, with the public.
Özgür Özel emphasized during an internal party meeting that the government must take steps to resolve the cost-of-living crisis. Özel stated, “I told him, ‘If steps are taken to address the cost-of-living issues, I won’t call for early elections citing local election results. But if pensioners who haven’t received raises, minimum wage earners, and aggrieved farmers are shouting ‘Election’ in the streets, what are we supposed to do?”
Özel’s statements highlight the hardships faced by a broad segment of the population and criticize the government’s failure to take concrete steps to alleviate these issues.
