CHP Vice President Burhanettin Bulut Highlights Debt Burden Left by Previous Managements

CHP Vice President Burhanettin Bulut, in his recent statement, drew attention to the debt burden left by previous administrations in municipalities taken over by CHP.

Bulut specifically used Ankara as an example, pointing out that the debts accumulated under the former mayor Melih Gökçek’s administration are now being paid by the current mayor, Mansur Yavaş. He expressed his concerns, stating, “We inherited these municipalities from you, if not now, then the previous time. For instance, in Ankara, Melih Gökçek never paid a cent in his life; the debt just kept piling up. Gökçek had the meal, and now they expect Mansur Yavaş to pay the bill.”

Bulut’s remarks shed light on the difficulties faced by CHP, especially in financially troubled municipalities. He underscored that local governments are working diligently to overcome economic hardships and that the new administrations are bearing the financial responsibilities neglected by past leaderships.

This statement aims to inform the public about CHP’s efforts to ensure financial sustainability for local governments and the challenges they encounter in this process.
