CHP Representative Deniz Yücel Highlights Financial Struggles of Retirees
During a press conference held at the main headquarters of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Vice Chairman and Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel addressed the financial difficulties faced by retirees. Yücel emphasized that the current pension of 12,500 Turkish Lira is insufficient and questioned how one is expected to survive on such an amount, asking, “Someone needs to explain to us how you can sustain living on 12,500 liras.”

Highlighting the severe economic challenges retirees face due to low pensions, Yücel called the situation intolerable. “This is irrational, inhumane, and oppressive! It’s the most severe form of exploitation and robbery. Be ashamed of your humanity!” Yücel declared passionately.

Yücel stressed the urgent need to reassess policies and practices directed towards retirees and made a direct appeal to the authorities. Criticizing the government’s approach towards pensioners, Yücel stated, “Don’t tell retirees to be patient with empty promises,” underlining that pensioners cannot endure based on hollow assurances.

Yücel’s statements brought much-needed attention to the plight of retirees, marking a significant step in bringing their economic difficulties to the forefront of public discourse.
