CHP Reacts Strongly to Proposed Increase in Overseas Departure Fee
CHP Deputy Chairman for Public Relations and Media Relations, Burhanettin Bulut, issued a statement regarding the proposed increase in the overseas departure fee.
In the statement, it was noted that the current overseas departure fee of 150 TL is proposed to be increased to 3,000 TL and that this amount is planned to be adjusted annually according to the reevaluation rate. Burhanettin Bulut emphasized that this hike would restrict the constitutional right of freedom of travel.
Bulut stated, “Freedom of travel is a constitutional right and cannot be restricted by such regulations,” highlighting the financial burden this proposed increase would impose on citizens.
Burhanettin Bulut said this proposed hike would make it more difficult for citizens to travel abroad and called for the regulation to be withdrawn.
