In a display of solidarity and resilience, Özgür Özel, leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), attended a concert by artist Suavi, which faced attempts of cancellation. The event was organized by Çine Municipality as part of the 30 August Victory Day celebrations.
Alongside Özel were CHP members of parliament and mayors, uniting to defend freedom of art and peace messages amid unjust attacks and threats faced on social media.
Taking to social media, Özel declared, “Despite all kinds of threats, pressure, and efforts of intimidation, we will continue to sing songs of peace and brotherhood freely.” This event underscored the significance of artistic freedom and peace.
